Sharon is an Area Director of Nursing – Mental Health at the South Metropolitan Area Health Service. With more than 30 years of experience in mental health nursing and senior leadership, she was a key member of the commissioning team for Fiona Stanley Hospital and has held a range of clinical and management roles across public hospitals in Western Australia.
With a strong commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of all members of the community by fostering effective partnerships with Non-Government Organisations. Her work focuses on reducing barriers to accessing mental health care through the development of contemporary models of care and memorandums of understanding. Sharon is dedicated to engaging consumers, carers, and service providers through co-design approaches that strengthen empowerment and promote hopefulness.
In addition to her nursing career, Sharon holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from Murdoch University. She is also a Credentialled Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
